Superintendent Danny Adkins announces new administrators in two of the district’s schools.

Rebecca Morrison has 15 years of experience as an educator. In addition to teaching math, she has been a member of the district Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (CIA) team, the STEAM team, the Accomplished Teaching cohort, and worked with Gear Up. Rebecca also obtained an Education Specialist degree during this time. This busy mother of triplets is inspired by her sons and her parents to make a positive difference in the world. Rebecca’s goal is to continue to grow and learn more about how to serve students through STEM education and other initiatives. Rebecca and her 15-year-old triplets Logan, Cameron and Tanner, live in Kite.

Matt is excited to meet the students and work with his colleagues to create the best school experience for each individual student. Matt and his wife Sarah, live in Belfry with their sons Jay and Jonah.

Adkins concludes, “We have had several changes in administration for this school year but we have a great balance of the knowledge from experience and the excitement from being new in a role. The 2019-2020 school year is going to be a turning point for Floyd County Schools and we can’t wait to get started!”
