Superintendent Danny Adkins congratulates Jessica Kiser, Head Start teacher at Allen Elementary. KET chose Jessica as one of the first KET Education All Stars.

Superintendent Adkins comments, “Congratulations to our KET Education All Star, Jessica Kiser! Only eight All Stars were selected in Kentucky for this new program by KET and Jessica is the only classroom teacher selected.”

The KET Education All Stars program salutes educators who exemplify what it means to support student achievement through innovative and engaging use of technology. Jessica will receive paid registration and travel to the annual KET Multimedia Professional Development Day, scheduled for July 17 at KET’s offices in Lexington. She will also have opportunities to network and collaborate with the KET Education team throughout the school year.

Adkins continues, “If you have been to a board meeting, you have seen Jessica recognized numerous times. She’s been at the top of the region for the annual record review and been a top classroom. Jessica has received grants and piloted new initiatives demonstrating that she is innovative with a growth mindset. She has high expectations for her students and herself. She’s actually been a student while trying new things in her class and sharing her knowledge with others and received her Master’s in Early Childhood this month too.”

Jessica first saw the importance of early childhood educators when, as a parent, she witnessed her child’s experience in Head Start. She became an instructional assistant in the classroom, eventually furthering her own education to become a Head Start teacher with her own classroom. Through her partnership with KET and other initiatives, she continues to search for new and inventive ways to keep her young students engaged through fun, hands-on learning.

Adkins concluded saying, “We want to congratulate and recognize Jessica for being named a KET Education All Star and we want to thank her for the outstanding job she has done and continues to do for our youngest Floyd County students.”
