Superintendent Danny Adkins announces that the last day of school for students has changed for all Floyd County Schools.

Superintendent Adkins commented, “We want to thank Commissioner Lewis for approving our request for Emergency Days. We received three days for all schools with one additional day for Allen Elementary. These Emergency Days mean that the last day for our students in most of our schools is June 3, and it’s the 4th for students enrolled in the Prestonsburg attendance area.”

June 3, 2019 is the last day of school for students for the following schools: Betsy Layne Elementary, Betsy Layne High School, Duff-Allen Central Elementary, Floyd Central High School, John M Stumbo Elementary, May Valley Elementary, and South Floyd Elementary.

June 4, 2019 is the last day of school for students for the following schools: Adams Middle, Allen Elementary, Prestonsburg Elementary and Prestonsburg High School.

May 30, 2019 is the last day of school for all students in Head Start and Preschool.

Adkins explains, “We hope this gives our graduating seniors enough time to notify their guests for graduation ceremonies and that our students will now have more opportunities this summer as a result of the Emergency Days being granted.”
