Superintendent Danny Adkins is happy to announce that Allen Elementary is the State High Attendance Day winner in the Small Middle School category.

On High Attendance Day, elementary, middle, or high schools compete in small school or large school categories and awards are determined statewide based on each individual school’s performance. The school in each category with the highest percentage attendance for that day is awarded $500. For elementary and middle schools, many can have 100% attendance on the day of the competition and with ties broken by the attendance on the previous day.

Allen Elementary had 100% attendance on Thursday, September 20, which was High Attendance Day.

Adkins comments, “Congratulations Allen Elementary students and staff! We’re thrilled to see one of our schools win! Our Floyd County team is working hard to provide opportunities for all students and the best way for students to take advantage of these opportunities is to attend school regularly.” Adkins continued, “We are asking for all students to be in school every day and be on time and we appreciate our families and community members for their support with this expectation. Together, we can help our students become globally productive citizens.”
